When you book a tour or experience, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and payment details. This data is processed by our booking partner FareHarbor on our behalf.

- Communicating about your experience (confirmations, updates, weather changes)
- Legal compliance with Portuguese maritime and tax regulations
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- FareHarbor — booking management and payment processing
- Cloudflare — website hosting and performance
- Google Analytics — anonymous website usage statistics
- Meta Platforms Ireland (WhatsApp Business Platform) — messaging delivery via our Atlantis Bridge service
WhatsApp & Messaging (Atlantis Bridge)
We operate a WhatsApp Business account through our internal messaging service, Atlantis Bridge, to communicate with guests before, during, and after their experience. Messages are delivered via the WhatsApp Business Platform, which is operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited.
What we collect via WhatsApp
When you contact us on WhatsApp, or when we contact you about a booking, we process:
- Your phone number and WhatsApp display name
- The content of messages you send to us, and the messages we send to you
- Message metadata (timestamps, delivery and read status)
- Any media you choose to share (photos, documents, voice notes)
Why we use WhatsApp
We use WhatsApp messaging for:
- Transactional messages — booking confirmations, meeting-point details, departure reminders, weather-related changes, and post-experience follow-ups
- Customer support — replying to questions you send us before, during, or after your booking
- Promotional messages and partner recommendations — including offers, seasonal updates, and curated cross-sell recommendations such as partner restaurants in Portimão and the surrounding area. These are sent only if you have opted in
Legal basis
Transactional messages are sent on the basis of contract performance (delivering the experience you booked). Customer support replies are sent on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering your queries. Promotional and partner-recommendation messages are sent only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Third-party processor
Messages are routed through the WhatsApp Business Platform operated by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland). Meta processes message content, phone numbers, and metadata under its own privacy policy, which can be reviewed at whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy.
How to opt out
You can stop receiving promotional WhatsApp messages from us at any time by replying STOP to any of our messages, or by emailing us. Transactional messages tied to an active booking will still be sent because they are necessary to deliver the experience you reserved.
WhatsApp message retention
We retain WhatsApp conversations for up to 24 months after your last interaction with us, so we can resolve disputes, honour return-guest preferences, and meet record-keeping obligations. Messages tied to a specific booking are retained alongside the booking record for the period required by Portuguese tax law (currently 10 years for financial records).
Deleting your data
You can request deletion of your WhatsApp data and all other personal data we hold about you at any time. Full step-by-step instructions are available on our Data Deletion page.
Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
Data Retention
We retain booking data for the period required by Portuguese tax law (currently 10 years for financial records). Contact data is deleted upon request unless legally required.
